Good Works Hub is seeking passionate, mission-driven leaders to serve as Board Members. This is an exciting opportunity to help establish and grow an innovative nonprofit dedicated to strengthening communities by connecting people, organizations, businesses, and local government through volunteerism, collaboration, and civic innovation.

As a founding board member, you will play a key role in shaping the organization’s strategic direction, governance, sustainability, and long-term impact. We are building more than a volunteer platform—we are creating a community ecosystem that empowers people to serve, nonprofits to thrive, and partnerships to flourish.

## About Good Works Hub

Good Works Hub exists to make community engagement easier, more meaningful, and more impactful. Through initiatives such as the Central Florida Volunteer Fair & Symposium, the Neighbor Needs Board and collaborative community projects, we aim to increase volunteer participation while strengthening the organizations that serve our communities.

## Position Summary

Volunteer Board Members provide strategic leadership, governance, and oversight to support the mission and sustainability of Good Works Hub. Board members serve as ambassadors for the organization, contribute their professional expertise, participate in key decisions, and help cultivate partnerships and resources that advance our work.

This is a volunteer leadership position and an opportunity to become part of the organization’s founding team.

## Responsibilities

Board Members are expected to:

* Attend regular board meetings and actively participate in discussions and decision-making.
* Provide strategic guidance on organizational growth, governance, and long-term planning.
* Serve on at least one board committee or project team.
* Act as an ambassador by promoting Good Works Hub within professional and community networks.
* Help identify partnership, sponsorship, fundraising, and grant opportunities.
* Support organizational accountability through sound governance and ethical leadership.
* Review and approve organizational policies, budgets, and strategic priorities.
* Contribute professional expertise to strengthen organizational capacity.
* Participate in major events, including the Good Works Hub Volunteer Fair & Symposium and other signature initiatives.

## Preferred Qualifications

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and industries. Experience in one or more of the following areas is especially valuable:

* Finance or Accounting
* Law or Corporate Governance
* Fundraising and Philanthropy
* Nonprofit Leadership
* Human Resources
* Technology or Product Development
* Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations
* Corporate Social Responsibility
* Community Development
* Education
* Public Administration
* Project or Program Management
* Environmental Sustainability
* Healthcare
* Economic Development

Previous nonprofit board experience is appreciated but not required.

## Time Commitment

Estimated commitment includes:

* Approximately 4–8 hours per month.
* Attendance at bi-monthly board meetings (transitioning to quarterly as the organization matures).
* Participation in one committee or strategic initiative.
* Attendance at major organizational events and occasional planning sessions.
